Job Details

Our client, a high-profile venue in London seeks an experienced venue sales professional to develop new business and manage key accounts in the Conference and Events Department of the venue. The primary focus of the role is to proactively generate new corporate business and bid opportunities, and to develop existing corporate and third-party agency accounts, by identifying and closing profitable business for the facilities and services at the venue in London.

This role will be primarily focused on selling the venue to the International, European and National corporate and agency market, therefore you must have experience of selling to these sectors of the industry, from a supplier or venue background.


-Sales (New Business)

Seek new business opportunities, through one's own initiative and Company marketing activities and close high yield business quickly and efficiently. Meet and exceed company financial targets.

Maintain a network of contacts and agencies that enhances opportunities for new and repeat business. Identify appropriate situations to up-sell the venue's products and those of their Service Partners to increase overall yields.

- Account Management

Effectively manage and develop existing clients to ensure high levels of repeat business and account growth. Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction and service and effectively and professionally manage client relationships from initial enquiry to post event.

- External Communication

To sell the venue and relevant Service Partners to potential clients in a professional and coherent manner in both the UK and Overseas. Ensure the use of the Company's marketing guidelines to effectively communicate the brand.

- Company Ambassador

To attend networking events and industry related conferences and trade exhibitions as required. Develop strong relations with clients through face-to-face activity and telephone sales. Use every opportunity to create new business contacts and potential leads.

- Sales & Cross Department Projects

To lead and complete sales related projects as and when requested by the Head of Sales, Conferences & Events. Plan, budget (if necessary), oversee and document all aspects of the specific project you are working on.

  • Proven sales record within the events and venues industry
  • Commercial awareness - understanding and challenging the impact of sales decisions across the business
  • Results and customer focused
  • Ability to sell the venue and ancillary services to achieve high yield business
  • Advanced negotiation skills
  • Outstanding presentation skills - ability to present confidently to large groups
  • Influencing and persuading - ability to engage others in the benefits of the venue .
  • Highly effective communication skills - both written and verbal (ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff within the business and externally)
  • High command of lead qualification techniques and processes
  • Proficient user of the full Microsoft Office suite, experience using databases to manage accounts
  • Highly numerate
