Job Details
Our client, a well respected association, seeks an experienced exhibition operations or events executive to work across a portfolio of exhibitions and trade missions to help raise the profile of British companies globally. This position is initially being offered as a 12 month fixed term contract to support growth, however it is intended that based on the success and growth of the Business this role will be made permanent after 12 months, therefore we are keen to attract candidates who are ultimately seeking a permanent position.
The role is largely an event support role and will require good operations, sales and marketing experience and requires the role holder to be commercially savvy, exceptionally efficient, diligent with the ability to develop good positive relationships with customers.
The role holder will have direct responsibility for;
· Co-ordinating the organisation's international trade promotion function including managing UK pavilions at
international exhibitions
· Supporting the organisation and planning of trade missions and events including the arrangement of meetings,
handling travel booking, communicating with delegates, answering queries, liaising with suppliers and budget
tracking.
· Supporting recruitment and retention for the Exhibitions and the virtual UK Pavilions
· Conducting research on behalf of the team and collecting and analysing the responses
· Communications including writing newsletter articles, creating promotional mailers, social media and keeping the
website and database up to date
Accountabilities
· Support all International activities to help ensure they are delivered within budget and on time across all areas of
existing activity from conception to completion.
· Support all operational elements for international activity to ensure that all are completed in a timely manner
including budget updates, production requirements, supplier liaison, guest communications, collateral compilation,
operational documents
· Provide sales support for other international activity, including; email and telesales campaigns
· Support the co-ordination and roll out of international communications plans for international activity; including
website updating and press co-ordination
· Assist marketing and sales plans for the US events and support for the team's international and exhibition activity.
Skills and Experience
· The ideal candidate will ideally be educated to degree level
· The candidate must have previous proven experience of organising and supporting events in a corporate or
association environment
· Willingness to support other association work and attend exhibitions and activity away from the office and across the
world as required.
· IT literacy essential in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams and in the use of a CRM database (we use
Salesforce)
Role location and practical requirements
The role is home based however the successful candidate must be able to attend face to face meetings (mainly in London or the Thames Valley area) on an ad hoc weekly basis as and when required for the role. Candidates must have reliable broadband speed at home and an appropriate workplace at home to work from.
