Team:
Their events team delivers a varied programme of about 120 in-person, hybrid and virtual events per year – ranging from small policy briefings and roundtables to large commercial conferences and awards. This mix of both policy and commercial activity provides the backbone for much of their engagement with both their members and stakeholders, and as such is a critical delivery function for both their political influence and their commercial income. The Events team sits within the Corporate Affairs Team, with the aim to create and deliver a compelling events proposition that supports member recruitment and retention, grows commercial income, and champions and delivers the organisations mission and objectives.

Role:
The Events Manager plays a key role in both the planning and delivery of the events programme with responsibility for the operational delivery of a selection of events, alongside another Event Manager, and reporting into the Senior Event Manager.
Your role will be across event design, planning, delivery, budget management, working closing with the marketing and comms team – and ensuring the events programme remains impactful, relevant to members and targets, with diverse line ups and audiences, formats to ensure enduring appeal, delivered on budget and to schedule.

You:
You will be an experienced events professional, combining first-rate organisation, communication and teamworking skills with innovative instinct and a keen commercial interest.  Specifically you’ll be:

  • An experienced events manager – with knowledge of the entire events process end to end – (from researching and developing programmes, advising on appropriate formats, drafting invites/ ticket sales / budget management/ AV & design briefs/ supplier and venue management /speaker and staff briefs through to onsite event management)  – ability to deliver multiple-complex projects on time to budget.
  • Experience in a similar relevant membership organisation or trade body - or having corporate events experience (so you understand the environment they operate in and the key stakeholders/members they work with)
  • Excellent event planning and on-site event delivery experience  
  • Either looking to broaden your event management experience by taking it to a dynamic new role and organisation, or a very good Event Exec/ Senior Exec looking to step up.
  • Able to bring commercial understanding together with excellent event delivery expertise
  • Real attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills are vital in this role.
