Join the brilliant team at this leading media/publishing company, delivering a varied portfolio of 60-80 events each year including awards ceremonies, roadshow conferences, retreat events, dinners, supper clubs, virtual events, forums and bespoke client events!

Who will you be joining:
You’ll be joining an established, successful publishing company whose event portfolio is renowned throughout their sector as the ‘must attend’ events.  Events include their own offering including retreats, thought leadership events, dinners, awards, conferences, podcasts, and also bespoke client events for major financial corporates, banks etc. 

‘Opportunity central’ is how they describe this role!  You’ll be working closely with the Event Director and the Event Manager, and be given your own events to run from the start… so this is no ordinary Event Co-ordinator role and would suit someone who loves ownership and thrives on responsibility …. The team will consdier someone at more Assistant level or Co-ordinator level depending on your experience to-date. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Support the Head of Events and Event Manager across varied events and award programmes
  • End to end delivery of selected events -  these may include conferences, online events, dinners, supper clubs & awards ceremonies.
  • Identifying and negotiating suitable venues directly or through their venue finding agency to ensure the best possible space, rates and contract terms and conditions are secured
  • Sponsor, speaker and delegate administration, venue logistics, event marcomms, co-ordinating judging process for awards events, social media planning for events, onsite delivery, post event follow up
  • Strong customer focus through the development of excellent client relationships with speakers, sponsors and delegates
  • Supervision of event suppliers & event venues during the planning and execution of events
  • Production of onsite event branding including signage, printed collaterals, give-aways, badges and website information
  • Development of strong project team work to ensure close cooperation between the internal teams including events marketing, editorial, and sales teams 
  • Support the Event Manager & Event Director in delivery of events as required – these will include awards, conferences, retreats & contract events for clients

For ‘opportunity central’ we are looking for ‘candidate central’! You’ll be a bit of a rising star, a confident, ambitious Event Assistant or Event Coordinator with proven end to end event coordination / management experience, confident, pro-active, with the ability and drive to thrive in a busy environment. You’ll have proven experience managing logistics for successful events, ideally across a varied range of formats – a minimum of 1 - 2 years.   Attention to detail and being able to work in a pressured environment are paramount. You’ll be on the look out for the perfect role that gives you bags of opportunity! Specifically you’ll bring:

  • Excellent end to end event management/logistics, across varied events – minimum 1-2 years
  • Highly presentable with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a pressurised work environment and remain calm under pressure
  • Understand the importance of working as a team
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
  • Highly numerate with skills for strong budget management
  • Highly motivated and able to work well autonomously or as part of a team
  • Skills to develop strong relationships with suppliers, clients & event attendees
  • Highly presentable with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook
  • Ability to manage people within the team whether upwardly at events or junior staff in the office
  • The role could suit an ambitious and super talented Event Grad with a year's placement under their belt looking to work in a busy events environment and really fast track their career.
