Are you dynamic, highly organised and proactive with proven administrative, communication and project management skills?

If so, join Shelter as our High Value Events Executive – a crucial role to support the High Value Partnerships Events team to deliver a programme of tailored online and in person cultivation and stewardship events.

About Shelter
A home is a fundamental human need, as essential as education or healthcare. Yet millions of people across Britain struggle on a daily basis with homelessness, bad housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. So, we are striving for change, with individuals, in communities, across society, and leading the way to a safe home. We need ambitious, best-in-class individuals who are passionate about our cause to join us at this exciting time. This is your chance to play a part in the fundamental change we are striving to achieve.

At Shelter we are united by our purpose to defend the right to a safe home. Our enemy is the social injustice at the core of the escalating housing emergency. We believe that to win that fight, we must be representative of the people we are here to help and those who support our movement for change. In all our people decisions, we take pride in being inclusive, fair, equitable and transparent.

We have committed to combat racism both within and outside Shelter and welcome you on our journey to becoming a truly anti-racist organisation.

About the team

You will be part of High Value Partnerships (HVP), a team that is integral to us achieving our charitable mission and is responsible for raising funds from high-net-worth individuals (Philanthropy), legacy pledgers, trusts, the Big Lottery Fund and major businesses. Sitting at the heart of the team is the events programme, which acts as a platform for cultivation and stewardship of high value relationships.

About the role

As our High Value Events Executive, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the programme by providing administrative and logistical support across the event portfolio at one of our busiest periods. It’ll be your job to ensure we are successful in delivering meaningful opportunities that meet and exceed engagement objectives.

Working closely with the Senior Events Manager and Events Manager, this key role will see you plan and deliver, on behalf of HVP teams, bespoke events that maximise donor cultivation and stewardship opportunities, plus manage event administration, including coordinating the invitation process, managing mail-outs, producing event materials, booking venues and catering.  Working with suppliers, developing and managing relationships and arranging quotes for competitive procurement are also vital aspects of this role, as is managing guest lists and the events inbox and tracking data around event attendance.

About you

Highly organised and collaborative, you will take pride in not only your excellent time management and administrative skills but also your impressive interpersonal and relationship-building abilities. You will have excellent project management skills and a proven event or time-pressured project planning background, as well as experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously. You will thrive when required to think creatively to deliver the best possible experiences for our donors and feel confident using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Microsoft Dynamics, email and internet to support your communications, event planning and delivery, while experience in using online meeting and events platforms such as Zoom would be advantageous.

Benefits
We offer a wide range of benefits, including 30 days of annual leave, enhanced family friendly policies, pension and interest free travel loans. Our employees also have access to a tenancy deposit loan, payroll giving, cycle to work scheme and an employee assistance programme.

Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. We’re here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own.
